The Power of Collaboration: Working with First Nations Creatives

Working alongside First Nations artists and designers has been a deadly journey of learning, growth, and deep respect. I feel blessed yo have worked with amazing designers such as Gammin Threads, Maara, Gillawarra and Lillardia Houston Briggs. It's a privilege to witness firsthand how traditional techniques, passed down through generations, are constantly evolving and intertwining with contemporary design. This dynamic interplay between the old and the new is what makes this space so beautiful and inspiring.

What strikes me most is the resilience and ingenuity of First Nations creatives. They are not simply preserving traditions; they are actively breathing new life into them, pushing boundaries, and creating powerful statements through their art.

What sets designers like Lillardia, apart is their unwavering commitment to their morals and values. They demonstrate that it's possible to create stunning, contemporary designs while upholding cultural traditions and prioritizing sustainability. Their work serves as an inspiration to the entire fashion industry, proving that ethical and environmentally conscious practices can go hand in hand with creativity and innovation. It's been amazing to witness their journey and be a part of their story.

I am also inspired by the designers, such as Maara that share their platform with others. They're collaborating with and showcasing the talents of other Blak creatives. It's so inspiring to see that kind of support and collaboration in action.

What really make me happy is the resilience and sheer talent of First Nations creatives. They're not just keeping traditions alive; they're breathing new life into them, pushing the boundaries, and making powerful statements through their art.

I've been lucky enough to work with some deadly mob and brands, each with their own unique vibe and approach. These experiences have been game-changers for me and inspire me

I look forward to another year of working with incredible mob and championing their beautiful work
